Advanced Psychological Approaches: In our A-Level Psychology program, students will engage with advanced psychological approaches, including biological, cognitive, psychodynamic, and social perspectives. They will critically evaluate these approaches and apply them to complex psychological phenomena.
Research Methods in Advanced Psychology: Students will refine their research skills, exploring both quantitative and qualitative research methods at an advanced level. They will design and conduct independent research projects, considering ethical implications and statistical analysis.
Biopsychology: Building on GCSE content, our program covers advanced topics in psychology. Students will explore the intricate relationship between the brain, the nervous system, and behaviour, delving into areas such as neurotransmission, brain imaging, and neural plasticity.
Cognitive Psychology: Our program delves into advanced cognitive psychology, exploring topics such as memory, language, and decision-making. Students will analyse cognitive processes and investigate how cognitive theories contribute to our understanding of human behaviour.
Developmental Psychology: Our program covers advanced developmental psychology, examining lifespan development and theories of cognitive, social, and emotional development. Students will analyse the impact of nature and nurture on human development.
Individual Differences: Students will explore advanced topics in individual differences, including personality theories, intelligence testing, and psychological disorders. They will critically evaluate the assessment and classification of individual differences.
Issues and Debates in Psychology: Our program addresses ethical issues, methodological debates, and cultural considerations in psychological research. Students will critically evaluate the implications of these issues for the validity and generalizability of psychological findings.
Exam Preparation and Independent Research: We provide extensive guidance for exam preparation, including practice papers and strategies for success in A-Level Psychology examinations. Students will also undertake independent research projects, further developing their analytical and critical thinking skills.
