Key Stage 3 (KS3) English Language:
Foundational Skills: At KS3, we focus on building a strong foundation in the English language. Students will develop essential skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. They will also work on grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension.
Literary Analysis: Students will explore a range of literary texts, including novels, poetry, and plays. They will learn to analyse themes, characters, and literary techniques, enhancing their ability to engage with literature critically.
Creative Writing: Our program encourages creative expression through writing. Students will work on various writing styles, from narratives and essays to poetry and descriptive writing.
Spoken Language: Effective communication is key. We emphasise the development of spoken language skills, helping students express their ideas clearly and confidently through presentations and discussions.
Critical Thinking: We nurture critical thinking skills, enabling students to approach texts and ideas critically. They will learn how to form and express opinions, back them with evidence, and engage in debates.
Key Stage 4 (KS4) English Language:
GCSE Preparation: Our KS4 program aligns with the requirements of GCSE English Language exams. Students will prepare for these exams through a structured curriculum, including the study of various text types and exam-specific techniques.
Text Analysis: Students will analyze a range of non-fiction texts, including articles, speeches, and reports. They will learn how to identify key points, analyze language techniques, and evaluate arguments.
Creative and Transactional Writing: We focus on developing students' creative writing skills while also enhancing their ability to produce transactional writing, such as formal letters and reports.
Spoken Language Assessment: Students will prepare for the spoken language assessment component, honing their presentation and debate skills.

Key Stage 5 (KS5) English Language:
A-Level Preparation: Our KS5 program aligns with the A-Level English Language curriculum. Students will engage in advanced study of language, including sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, and language change.
Critical Analysis: Students will develop the ability to critically analyse language in various contexts, from media discourse to literary texts. They will explore how language reflects and shapes society.
