- SUBJECT DESCRIPTION
At Tuition Quest, we are dedicated to empowering GCSE/iGCSE students in Economics and to excel in their studies, aligning our curriculum with the AQA and Edexcel exam boards' requirements. In GCSE/iGCSE Economics, students will delve into fundamental topics such as:
Microeconomics: In the microeconomics segment of our program, students will delve into the world of individual economic agents. They will study concepts such as supply and demand, price determination, market structures (perfect competition, monopoly, etc.), and how individual choices impact resource allocation and prices. Students will gain a deep understanding of how businesses and consumers make decisions in the marketplace.
Macroeconomics: Moving to the macroeconomic perspective, our students will examine the broader economic landscape. They will explore topics such as economic indicators (GDP, inflation, unemployment), fiscal and monetary policy, international trade, and exchange rates. This macroeconomic lens will allow students to analyse and interpret economic trends at a national and global level.
Economic Policy: Our program will equip students with the knowledge of how government policies influence economic outcomes. They will learn about fiscal policies (taxation and government spending) and monetary policies (central banking and interest rates), and their role in stabilising and steering the economy.
Global Trade: In an increasingly interconnected world, understanding global trade is crucial. Students will explore the benefits and challenges of international trade, trade agreements, protectionism, and the impact of globalisation on national economies.
Case Studies: Practical learning is a key component of our GCSE/iGCSE Economics course. Students will analyse real-world case studies, dissecting the successes and failures of prominent companies. This hands-on approach will enhance their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Our GCSE Economics curriculum is designed to make economics accessible and engaging for students, enabling them to comprehend complex economic concepts and their real-world applications. With a strong foundation in microeconomics and macroeconomics, our students will be well-prepared for their GCSE examinations and equipped with the knowledge to make informed decisions in a globally interconnected economy. Join Tuition Quest and embark on a journey of economic discovery and excellence.
